Children learn from observing others, especially their parents. When they see Mommy picking up their toys and putting them back in the bin while cleaning up, the little ones will eventually start copying that behavior. Pretending to pick up a play kitchen, such as dishes and silverware, it instills the ideas of keeping a tidy home.
Many times, especially with older children, sharing can be difficult; the same goes with taking turns. However, when you buy a set you will receive many pieces, in which the child can learn to count, divide, share and put away all in one kit (basically). And, when many children are involved, you might begin to see one take leadership during play time.
Often times these sets can be found at retailers such as Walmart, Toys R Us and perhaps even Dollar General. But your best bet is to find something online, where prices can get super competitive; that's where you'll most likely get the best deal. Unless you find a closeout sale, or going-out-of-business sale at a brick and mortar store, you might run on over to eBay, or Zulily.
This first set is recommended for ages 3 and up. Learning Resources is featuring a color sorting pretend food set on Zulily, priced at nearly 50% off for two more days only:
New Sprouts is offering a "fresh picked" fruit and vegetable tote set, for ages 2 and up. Begin teaching your little ones about the importance of healthy eating habits (aside from at the table) with this set, including a convenient canvas tote:
Also rated for ages 2 and up, New Sprouts is also including a picnic set on their Zulily sale. There is a basket, two plates, ketchup and mustard, burgers, watermelon and cupcakes. Enjoy a little role play with your babies this summer, for just $15:
