Gut Feelings

Before I went to my first doctors appointment I had started having these cramp type of pains and stretchy feelings all over my belly. It wasn't accompanied by bleeding or spotting, so my midwife didn't see it as anything to get worried over. I was told it sounded just like Round Ligament Pain, and I thought it was over when I left the doctors office.

I am just 17 weeks 2 days into this whole adventure. There have already been big changes throughout my day to day lifestyle, including sleeping habits, what I can eat and how often I'm stuck in the bathroom. I always heard sleep deprivation was something that happened after the baby was born, but I had no idea it would be an issue during pregnancy. Thankfully, I have a body pillow, but even my husband wakes up when I toss and turn many times at night.

Sitting here at work has been difficult today... and not just because tomorrow is Thanksgiving (turkey, please?). No matter what project I try to delve into, I find myself constantly distracted by pressure and cramps around the center of my belly. They last from a few seconds to a few minutes on and off. They aren't exactly painful, rather than uncomfortable. If this is what Round Ligament Pain is, I can't wait for it to pass.

There's another girl in the office who's 7 months pregnant. I was talking to another coworker about the morning sickness and vomiting I've been experiencing. It was a little depressing as the pregnant lady announced "I haven't had one single symptom the whole time". What do you want, a cookie? All I can say is, it must be nice to grow a baby and not feel ill the entire time.
